When you don't how to spend your free time...make like a tourist!

Singapore is a small place. Sometimes it can be hard to have some inspiration of what to do with a day off, especially when it comes along in the middle of the week like the Muslim holiday of Hari Raya Haji last Wednesday.

Back in the UK there are endless possibilities of things to do on a public holiday. There just aren’t enough  public holidays. In Singapore it’s the reverse.

So what’s the best thing to do in this situation. Make like a tourist I say. So we did and headed down to Underwater World on Sentosa Island. Small and perfectly formed, just like Singapore, this is just the place to get down under the sea without actually getting wet.

Now I had planned to tell you the exact names of all of these beautiful creatures of the sea rather than just state the obvious jellyfish, giant crab, seahorse but I've since forgotten then so maybe you can guess instead...

And then there was the shoal of Japanese tourists which obscured all other life forms from view….

And something that all lazy people will just love – a travalator that takes  you round the main part of the aquarium to see some of these beauties...

And of course it wouldn’t be complete without….a rave-tastic dolphin show at the end! Yes Mr C seemed very taken with their skills...

Or for a sea experience of a different kind, there's always the Wave House where you can try your hand at surfing on a simulated wave like this dude. Maybe you'll see me up there next time...or maybe not.

Well of course it ain't quite Bali but not bad for a 15 minute cab ride away.
